Reviews & Discussion

Rated 4/5

The "style" listed for this release states, "Tribal, Experimental". Certainly there are elements of each throughout. What the listing forgot to also mention was, psychotic and intense. Anyone who has seen one of their live shows can tell you, the intensity is like no other live show. The album has lots of repetitive drum beats mixed with primitive man shouts and yells. This is surrounded by a wall of grinding and spurting guitar noise. There are some amazing drum works throughout this recording. "Bajo la piel" is a good example of some hypnotic drum work that builds with intensity, from calm and relaxed to guarded and paranoid. The drums throughout this release take focus, and are the driving force of each track. There is no melody to speak of. Most of the sound is dark and disturbing, psychotic and somewhat schizophrenic. This is by no means a negative aspect, just a bit too much overload for the weak at heart. Listening to this album with a good stereo system, and a decent pair of speakers, is simply amazing in its ability to fill the room with madness. This was recorded live, and unlike many live albums, the audience noise is very low key, and fits the music atmosphere perfectly.
