This release just goes to show you that amazing music doesn't have to come at a price; this stuff is free and the quality and production is comparable to anything you'll hear in the genre of experimental electronica. This is some of the best atmospheric illbient/ambient with soft, melodic touches of piano. With its chill, dreamy, melodramatic ambiance and subtle broken beats at times it sounds somewhat reminiscent to Phonem, Biosphere, or Arovane. "Full Speed Dead" could very well be one of the most beautiful electronic tunes ever composed... That said, the only flaw of this EP is that it is way too short, I could listen to this stuff for ever.

Fictions & Fires - one of the better Monotonik releases, due to the fact that it dosent sound like every other thing they release, yet sounds like everything else in the IDM 'scene'...sort of.
Beautiful simple pianos in a real minimal melodic pattern. Chipped (as in broken) beats and melodies hold every track together like a foundation to a house. I think the reason why this release stands out is because it manages to sound electronic, using your basic glitches and clicks, yet holds a lush simple "ambient with beats" feel. Sort of like Boards of Canada in a way, only not mainstream.
While these tracks aren't anything extremly unique, they are extremly lovley. Worth a download, in my opinion.
