This album is sublime, but then any comment I post anywhere regarding the works of Mr. Tobin will read similarly, as he has the 'midas touch' more than any other producer in my (humble) opinion. This album serves also as an excellent prelude to further exploration of his work, as he seems only to delve deeper into to audio experimentaion with each subsequent release! Easily the most accessible of his releases most likely due to its age & his experience in production at the time. Having distinct leanings toward drum & bass & classic old skool (jazz) breaks almost makes it an easier (and possibly more frequent) listener than his later outings & the extra tracks* included here are tasty morsels for the avid fan. Excellent, an album which any Ninja Tune fan will revel in & those with a penchant for jazzier breakbeats will do much the same I imagine. Get it now.
* Originally 'adventures' was released on Shadow recordings without many of the tracks included here ('the method', 'ol bunkhouse', 'on the track', 'the sequel') and the vinyl does not include all original cd tracks. Thankfully the whole thang in all its glory can be found on the Ninja Tune 2-cd re-release version & not surprisingly is well worth investigating! K@
