I want to give a fair review on this. So I'll first tell you about my background. I've been listening to edm for several years, starting out in trance, then listening to classic trance and the trancier genres before ditching it all for the likes of techno, experimental, trip hop, and house.
From a trance perspective, this release is a must have for all old school trance enthusiasts. It contains many wonderful tracks, including the well-known "The Orange Theme", and some ambient-like pieces that work very well. Heavily relies on acid to make tracks beyond ten minutes in length.
I'm no longer really interested in the trance aspect of music, just for its listening quality and aesthetics. This album is by no means well-produced and Cygnus X does not seem very talented, as it contains basic melodies and rhythms, a lack of diversity in the synths and samples, and it is very repetitive at some points as well. Wholly lacks the refined sound that I really like in music, and I would have liked more breakbeats in here.
Should you get this album? If you are a trance listener, yes. If you are a techno listener, yes. If you are an acid house listener, yes. But if you are a classic house, ambient, IDM, drum 'n' bass, or any-other-genre listener, then you may not find this album up to par in quality.

Quality classic trance album from Cygnus X. This may sound dated, repetitive, and boring to some. Of course classic trance is quite the acquired taste. Ralf Hildenbeutel spreads his seed yet again. Every track here is excellent.

Cygnus X's ultra rare full-length isn't really worth seeking out. He plays hard, fast, German trance, that's more annoying than enjoyable. Some of the tracks are decent: "Hypermetrical" has a nice melody, and so does "Synchronism". But these repeated melodies over the span of ten minutes just becomes repetitive and boring. On top of that, the beats and basslines are extremely dated and cheesy. "The Orange Theme", despite it's unexplanable popularity, is just cheesy and bad. German trance fans might enjoy this, but I can't really recommend this to anyone else.

Hmmm, what can I say? This is definately one of the ten best albums ever in my opinion! Tracks like Hypermetrical, Kinderlied and Deliberation are amazingly good! This IS trance! When you listen to this album, whether it's on the dancefloor or in your living room, you just "fly away" and actually fall into a state of trance! Recommended to all EDM-lovers! Enjoy...=)
