Cymande's first album is a must. Shaped on multi-cultural quality music, it stood the test of time through DJ charts, compilations & samples. "Dove", "Bra" and "The Message", three of the most specal tunes of this album were included on important selections such as 'Super Disco Brake's', 'Got To Get Your Own (Some Rare Grooves)', 'Mega Disco Funk', 'Blueprint - Digital Blueprint Of Soulful, Funky Grooves', 'Funk Rock', among others, including top House artist Little Louie Vega's compilation 'Choice - A Collection Of Classics'.
Based on fantastic instrumental arrangements, Cymande LP is an invitation to a deep musical journey: "Dove", for example, is very deep, soulful and has that introspective blend of Soul-Blues aura - the mood is based on Patrick Patterson's brilliant guitar solo and its dialog with Steve Scipio's bass, vocal chorus, sensual rhythms and Mike Rose's flute lines (it was sampled by Hip Hop acts such as Cash Crew, EPMD, Fugees, and others as well).
"Bra" and "The Message" were equally influential and had rich ensemble, all based on the most essential principle that makes music so special - art.
'The Message / Zion I' and 'Bra / Ras Tafarian Folk Song' got releases on seven inches.
