Nano Records is back with a new compilation, this time with a pretty impressive list of artists. It is compiled by the co-owner of Nano Records, dj Ans (The Electric Ant), who is also the organizer behind the Glade Festival in the UK.

First out is Talamasca (dj Lestat) from France. He gives us a varied track with quite slow, chilled bass line. A groovy track you can use for stumping slowly on the dance floor or enjoy for home listening. You also get some African inspired sounds and drums. Nice one. Track 2 is a collaboration between Tristan Cooke and someone called Allaby. Here we get the typical Tristan sound, which is very intense and drifting, but without much variation. Pretty deep track, and definitely one of the better tracks I have heard by Tristan lately. Track 3 is a new project called AMD, which is a collaboration between Dick Trevor (Jumanji, Green Nuns Of The Revolution etc.) and Jules Hamer (Aphid Moon). This is a pumping, quite massive track with some really nice psychedelic sounds swirling in and out. Very drifting too, and it sort of builds up. I often find tracks by Aphid Moon a bit boring, but together with Dick Trevor, things sure sound better. One of my favourite tracks on this compilation. Track 4 is by Shift from Cape Town, South-Africa. He stays on the dark side with this track too. Scary vibes from start to end. I thought his album was too little varied, with the same sound all the way through. A single track on a compilation fits better. We get a massive, hard rolling bass line and a ton of noisy psychedelic sounds. Personally I find some of those sounds quite nagging, and he doesn’t exactly hit my taste this time either.

Track 5 is a collaboration between The Electric Ant (the compiler of this compilation) and Tristan. This track was originally released on the compilation called Clarity on Nano Records last year, but here we get a remix by the trance couple, Manmademan. This one is pretty dark too, with a deep, rolling bass line, mystic vibes in the background and several voice samples. Definitely better than the tracks Manmademan released on their last album released on Elektrik Orgasm Records. Track 6 is surprisingly by Joti Sidhu, who seems to focus more on djing than producing music these days. He has always liked it quite dark, and sort of minimal. That’s what we get here too. A heavy, fast rolling bass line, with tiny, small psychedelic sounds hiding in the background. After a while we also get some more melody than usual from this guy. It actually builds up and become pretty massive. Then we get a track by a new name called Silver Surfers. This is a collaboration between Protoculture (Nate Raubenheimer) who released his debut album on Nano Records last year, and Sim 1 (Simon Malherbe). The track they give us here is remixed again by Protoculture, so you definitely get the Protoculture sound with this track. Nice, drifting, deep, melodic morning trance. One of the most melodic tracks on this compilation. Track 8 is by Tikal who released their debut album on Neurobiotic Records. They sure like to mix in ethnic influences into their tracks. Here we get some eastern vibes, mixed with a nice groove and psychedelic melodies. Fantastic track with great variation! It reminds me a lot of old school goa trance, but with a much more modern sound picture. The last track we get on this compilation is a new track by one half of Logic Bomb, Alternate Vision (Johan Krafft). Here he has gone to a slower progressive tempo for a change. Great, psychedelic sound picture, with really great sounds as usual from this guy. Nice finish on this compilation.

This compilation is really nice and varied. In my opinion one of the best compilations Nano Records has released so far. Here you get everything from progressive trance, morning trance to full on night time vibes, so check it out!
