Reviews & Discussion

Rated 3/5
Review by Moesko Mar 09, 2007 (edited over 2 years ago)
The great label Spirit Zone's 6th Global Psytrance Compilation has a really interesting contrast.
When we start Dance CD, we would wait for the classic psy-craze, that Spirit Zone always gives us. Now this disc is pretty bad. First two tracks by Alegria and Necton are really boring, don't give any special trick. Gong-Song by Deep a little bit more creative, but Shiva Chandra's Creator is bad again. After Defolder finally we got something about we were waiting for. Space Tribe's hypnotising track is one of the best part of this disc, awesome kick!! Spirallianz gives some progressive trance, and then the second awesome trip by Electric Universe, aka Boris Blenn, the most talented artist of this label. K.U.R.O. close this disc good enough.

Now, let's have the ambient part!
We can say already listening to the first track, it's a totally different world. Born Bad by Blake C contains lyrics from the motion picture Natural Born Killers, very cool but dark track, too. I have all discs from Patchwork, and one of my favorite tracks is Q-Faktor, I'm really glad to hearing in this compilation, anyway it really matches to the atmosphere. Electric Source is a new artist, we didn't see it yet in any Spirit Zone compilation. Chris Zippel's Kim is a beautiful oceanic track, floating beneath the water. Then we got a very special punch by Yucatan, a totally psychedelic ambient journey, fortunately the longest part of this CD. Two tracks by Amphotic and Mos-Fet chill you out after Yucatan, and Fünf D close this unbelievable disc with a beautiful space-like track.

It's hard to say that this compilation is good or bad.
The Dance part has two treasure only (6,8), but the Ambient part is one of the best ambient compilations I've ever heard.
