Reviews & Discussion

WOW...What a tune ! You have to smile at the amount of sampling of the "75 film " Jaws " in this track , but it's perfectly ( in my opinion ) done . From the samples used , to the absolutely timeless old-skool percussion , even a pumpin' happy hardcore bassline ( alternate octave notes in 4/4 time ) which is simple , but very , very , effective . what I think makes this tune is the way it has been arranged . Most of the Jaws samples are in order with the film , and this , combined with the way the rhythm track builds ( or releases ) the tension , really is like listening to a 6-7 minute musical version of the film . The best ( and most unexpected ) part though occurs about a minute from the end . Excel releases his sample of Chief Brody's (Roy Schnider ) line " you're gonna need a bigger boat " and it all drops back in , like a meteorite , harder than ever for one last time . Most DJ's seem to omit this section from their sets . Get one if you can , and play it at +3 pitch . Only 1000 pressings were ever made , apparently .
