Reviews & Discussion

Rated 2/5

This mix is no good. Although I quite enjoy goa gil's track selection on his goa-mix cds from the nineties, the mixing is so horrible I have hard time getting through the disc.

what's good about this cd? well to put it short: tracks 2,5, 11 and 12 are great.

the astral projection tunes are classics that need little introduction. great, evergreen analog melodies that make almost any music lover have a grin on his face.

I'd like to mention etnica's intense visitation too. a great goa track full of (intense visitation of) energy and captivating atmospheres only etnica could deliver. the original with jim morrison samples is one of my fav'es. this version is chopped quite badly though: the original is if I remember correctly, 9 minutes, and this is about 5, half of the delicious cake is missing I could say.

the mixing... oh my, words won't do. intense visitation is just getting "intense" when it suddenly just stops like a car crashing a wall and transwave track gets on. no flow what so ever. the mood is ruined real badly, especially since I don't think the dark pounding rmx of the rezwalker fits the melodic morning-oriented intense visitation at all... beatmatching? pfff.

for some strange reason I pressed "stop" after that...

I guess you got the idea. get this for the tracks but not for the mixing. :) big respect for gil tho, every genre needs a guy who can mix 16 hours non-stop ;)
