I bought this primarily because the full-length Plastikman mix of 'Alphawave' is pretty hard to get hold of on CD. But it turns out the talentless ass-clown of a DJ who's put this compilation together screws up the entire start by mixing it horribly out of time like a total spaz, then goes on to add terrible echoes, pointless flange and other crap-sounding effects all the way through the whole 17 minutes of one of the tightest pieces of techno ever made. Stupid cock. Totally ruined a great compilation of tunes. It's unbearable!

And what's the point of calling it 'Werks Like a Twelve Inch' if none of the tunes actually work like a 12-inch? I figured that was the whole point of this CD...? Pfft.

Excellent track selection considering it's all from the Astralwerks label within a couple year span; but whoever DJ Grumpy is he made me quite grumpy when I bought this because the recording quality isn't very good-- quite a bit of distortion on some tracks, and perhaps he's a bit excited about the flanger effect. Still, it's nice to hear Plastikman's acid mix of system 7 melting down in a mix.
