GANGSTA

1998: After 3768 eons of war against opression and slavery DJ Ruffneck discovered there where "vultures" on his own planet. Even worse, they where members of the government that ruled his planet, during the time he was absent on his holy mission: the war for art-core, justice and the liberation of his people. He and his soldiers returned to the planet once more to fight for this goal. During this fight it became clear that nothing would ever be the same anymore.... ever! Now it was time for everybody to show their colors... Along the way they lost many soldiers. These traitors, who chose to be part of the other side, were cursed, excoriated or simply executed.... However, during this battle they also found out that the legends told by their ancesters where true!!! This legend tells of the magical mutation of transforming into the ultimate battle machine, needed to survive even the worst of events. And that is exactly what happened; no longer would these patriots be known as Ruff Soldiers, they became... Gangsta'z. This album tells some of the chants of this battle and is therefor called: the quest for justice.

Reviews & Discussion

Review by Shad0w Jan 10, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
For me this is one of the best hardcore (or artcore if you want) cd's ever made.

It was the closure of the Ruffneck era and the beginning of the Gangsta / Supreme Intelligence period.

There are 5 tracks on it that are a different.
Flashback is an intro of a few minutes in which a lot of ruffneck samples come back. A lot of atmosphere.
Frightnight is a slow darkcore track which was the follow-up of the Ruff Intelligence 3 vinyl.
So bright & Pull tha trigger are Drumm&Bass tracks.
Farewell Ruffia is one of the most beautifull tracks i ever heared. So much feelings and emotions come back in this track. It ain't hardcore, i'd call it ambient. It was made by P. Sturm, aka Syphax.
Tracks 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 18 and 20 are interludes, short tracks with a lot of creepy sounds.
Other Tracks are pure artcore.

The titles on the cd tel a story of the transformation from Ruffneck to Gangsta Audiovisuals.
