What a huge disappointment! Discovery was such a brilliant album, the definitive full-length of the sadly forgotten French House period in dance music history. The remixes and miscellaneous noodlings, nearly all if not all of which were made available for "Daft Club" members, offer little new or exciting for anyone who'd heard the album. Lazy regurgitation seemed to prevail throughout, a surprising scenario considering the high quality of the members' solo work for their respective vanity imprints. Quite honestly, I believe it would have been best if this collection had never been pressed to disc.

There's the good, the bad, and daft club. I have always hated remixes because most of them destroy the original. It seems to be the case for some of this album.

Overture
Pretty good intro, reminds me of the horrors of AOL

Aerodynamic (Daft Punk Remix)
Really cool how it mixes Aerodynamic with One More Time at the beginning! But afterwards does a straight run through Aerodynamic

Harder Better Faster Stronger (The Neptunes Remix)
An interesting version, definitely worth checking out

Face To Face (Cosmo Vitelli Remix)
A rather mediocre version of a good song

Phoenix (Basement Jaxx Remix)
Contains almost nothing from the orignal. One of the worst on the CD

Digital Love (Boris Dlugosh Remix)
One of the cheapest things i've ever heard. Its pretty much the same as the original

Harder Better Faster Stronger (Jess & Crabbe Remix)
This is what remixing is all about. Great

Face To Face (Demon Remix)
Better than Cosmo but not the original

Crescendolls (Laidback Luke Remix)
One of my favorite Remixes. Totally different feel than the original but still fun.

Aerodynamic (Slum Village Remix)
Very cool rap song. Most interesting remix.

Too Long (Gonzales Version)
Sounds more like Elton John. Pretty sad

Aerodynamite
From the Aerodynamic single. Pretty good

One More Time (Romanthony's Unplugged)
WTF? Sounds like Romanthony had too many drinks. The worst thing on the album

Something About Us (Love Theme From Interstella 5555)
Another cheap track. They just chopped off the intro and the ending.

This is a mediocre album if that. Even with all the cheap awful tracks on here there are still a few golden songs. Worth checking out. 6/10

This cd contains a lot of he songs / remixes that where previously only available for those who got the "Daft club" membership-card with their cd "Discovery". This card provided an acces code you needed to reach the download section of their site, in order to get your hands on new songs and remixes. This cd was released to make these available for everyone.

Daft Punk’s Discovery gets put through the ringer by some house and hip-hop luminaries. The resulting album, Daft Club, shows a wild range —- lots of fun. The Neptunes turn “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” into a R&B track, while Basement Jaxx throw whatever sonic debris they can get their hands (from Arabic horn samples to vocal squeals) into their mix of “Phoenix.” Boris Dlugosh, however, doesn’t do much for “Digital Love.” Both Demon and Laidback Luke deliver harder versions of “Face To Face” and “Crescendolls” respectively, but the Slum Village version of Aerodynamic minimizes the wonderful baroque chords and maximizes not-so-wonderful broke rhymes. And just in case you didn’t get enough of “One More Time,” there’s an acoustic version. Definitely a mixed bag of a remix album, but still worth checking out.
