"I've written these notes for a while now, and there's not much more to say. I began making records out of both frustration & love: frustration with with today's disposable tracks with no musicianship, variation, or originality, and a love for the beautiful sounds of yesterday, which continue to bring us joy. I could go on about simplistic one-measure grooves, predictable 4 and 8 measure repetitions via computer, over-quantizing... But it's not just dance music. Music should express not only a mood, but a subjectivity. The way I see it: let's all retrace our steps, like in Luis Bunuel's 'Exterminating Angel', to Ellington in 1959, to Miles Davies in 1968... Then, maybe we'll arrive back in 1973 - back at LITM, and start creating anew. Next time: graphics?"
