David Holmes' trippy version of _Don't Die Just Yet_ gets some fascinating UK indie rock mixes (via Chemikal Underground) on this first disc. Arab Strap, for their "The Holiday Girl" version, goes mellow, adding in a spoken word over their rolling beat. Mogwai loops their spoken word segment at the start, but their mix hews much more closely to the original. Elsewhere, Holmes, with collaborators Tim Goldsworthy and Richie Firmie, give the track thick bombast with their "Don't Chant Just Yet" mix. Delakota offer a big-beat version that also features a spoken word. Curious.
