David's accompaniments feature too prominently on this album for me to love it as a gesture in toto; however, face C is worth its acquisition alone: a full side of post-world-war anarchic battle, horses being culled into aggression, striking sounds reminiscent of bronze ages gone by, "when our shadow falls in tears, time turns voices into stone." Glorifying the unholy through layers of resonant gongs, issued commands, laughter of gurus, traditional European military song, lazy delays. Nightmarish, brilliant.
