Very moody and etherial album. Amazingly takes you away to another world if you close your eyes and drift away with the opening track. Each song delivers a feeling of deep emotions and is a must have classic that stands out as one of Dead Can Dances finest albums.
A good album, but it hasn't aged to well. The production leaves a lot to be desired, it's mared by overuse of mid-80's preset-synths. Had instead real instruments been applied this album could have been a timeless classic.
Future Sound Of London lifted the vocal sample they used on "Papua New Guinea" from the track "Dawn of the iconoclast".
