With a formula that matches Dead World's debut Collusion (song/noise/song/noise) there are only so many verbs you can use to describe this stuff; crushing comes to mind more than any others. Traditional DW songs are bookended between noise montages that pierce the eardrums (particularly if you've got headphones on) and are generally unpleasant to listen to, not unlike Controlled Bleeding's early recordings. Opening track Warhammer actually sounds like one, and whilst it's popular to refer to Godflesh or other influential heavy industrial bands when reviewing Dead World, I think that they were in a class of their own. Ouch.
