I really love this album...Listening to it now. I love Day One and The last part of the outro. The Guitar riff in Day One is sampled from Steve Khan, a few months ago I went on a GoodWill shopping spree (Thrift Store) and picked up a bunch of records for like 50 cents each. Also the "hidden Track" in outro is sampled from Thomas Bangalter's Gym Tonic, i believe, just sped up. Overall an awesome CD!! Highly Recomended
If John Carpenter, Bill Conti, David Shire or Lalo Schifrin were reincarnated as DJ's they'd be Damon Baxter. 'Deep Red' is an imaginary soundtrack filled with wonderful soundscapes, textures and melodies a la Grantby style. Instead of rehashing the same hip hop/block party formula that Damon is known for he opts for a densely layered magnum opus filled with sweeping strings, pianos, guitar, flutes and more. Sound familiar? Craig Armstrong would be proud.
