"Dett" is a wicked speeded-up hip hop track in the style that was popular at the time, as house and rave tempos influenced UK hip-hop, laying the groundwork for the breakbeat techno, rave and ultimately jungel / D&B scenes.

But "Jungle Dett" on the B-side is the real killer on here. It fused the hip hop stuff of the A-side with the house/techno/rave elements to a much greater degree:
the synths from Kevin Saunderson's "Rock To The Beat",
the "Wee-ee" sound from Loleatta Holloway's "Sweet Sensation" that was made popular by Nitro Deluxe's "The Brutal House"
James Brown grunts, The Amen Break,
a massive bassline,
bits from the original rap off the flip,
a reggae intro and little hints all the way through,
blimey the list just goes on- This is proto jungle if ever I heard it.

Play at +8 for maximum dancefloor devastation!
