This goes way back to the roots of house music. It's heavily disco influenced - early house records had a lot of vocals on them and this is done in that style.

While it may not have the "underground" appeal that some house fans are looking for, that's no reason to underrate it.

This track has been called "the world's hottest record" and a "timeless house classic". Admittedly this is by Defected, one of the labels releasing it, however they are still lofty claims to make. Frankly I fail to see what all the hype is about. The track lacks any groove or decent melody. The vocal is not great either. Overall it did nothing for me. Dennis Ferrer used to produce some quality deep & jazzy house but this is no nowhere near as good.

There is a forthcoming release on Defected with remixes of Hey Hey. From listening to some early previews most of them seem to be pretty poor although the Deepah Ones mix seems kinda funky. I guess the best thing to do is wait for that release to come out and avoid this one.

Break through album for Dennis Ferrer... Slick from start to finish and a vocal that leaves you wanting more tracks like this all day - everyday. If you like this track, check his depth with the track "Transitions". Deep house is covered with burners from D.F.
