Reviews & Discussion

Rated 4/5
Review by Alastis Mar 23, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
This is my favorite album of DM, along with "Songs Of Faith & Devotion". Those are 2 albums which, to my ears, are some of the most consistent in their back catalogue (although i suspect that fans of their 80s output weren't so happy about those records). There's a stab at more harsh industrial-tinged sound ("Barrel Of A Gun"), excellent slow orchestral number "Home" and many other interesting tracks. One might not realize that there was a huge chance that this album would never happen due to suicidal attempt of Dave Gahan. As it is though, it sounds exactly the way it should be - a return to life for Dave and return to form for the rest of the band.
