This release by Domu gives reference --and presumably praise-- to the most important radio show for the underground jazz-lovers who like to have an eye to the future as well as on the past; Gilles Peterson's 'Worldwide' show on BBC Radio 1.
The show has moved around in the schedules a bit --Wednesday night 12-2am, Sunday night 11-1am, and currently back again to Wednesday night 2-4am (yes, somewhat of a fun time for the day worker!)-- but still retains a following many radio shows could simply dream of, especially in what could be seen, unfortunately, as that of a minority music interest.
When this happened to be released, it was on during the former time, hence the title of Solid Groove's version, "Wednesday At Midnight Mix", which you may notice has a snippit from one of the show's promo themes sampled on it.
