Dozzy is a genious, and that's reflected on this CD, quality first class.
Remember him playing in the Panoramabar a while ago, had to clear my mind for a week afterwards! Awesome album.

This CD is seriously GOOD. I was blowing away by this mix of techno, dub, IDM, trance, ambient music. Definitely will look forward to anything Donato will produce in the future. Amazing!

Dozzy off his normal beaten path in this record. I dont know for sure why the album is called "K", but after sitting through it a dozen times or more, one could possibly conclude that its designed for fans of this letter of the alphabet. But I dont want to unfairly attribute the inspiration of the sounds contained within to some substance because this release is so much more than that. In regards to the music, it is incredibly deep and thoughtful. Maximum effectiveness from a relatively small bank of sounds. I've said this in previous reviews and ask the risk of harping it, this track sounds like New York at 5am. Remember watching the first Batman movie, and feeling enthralled by the environment that they created with Gotham City? Somehow it was larger than life and the sun never shone. Well I've been in clubs in New York that felt like Gotham. Late night and I remember a few times looking around and feeling like at some point I had exited reality. What is this place and why are all these strangers congregating in this dark room listening to a never ending kick drum. Its so nonsensical but yet it makes perfect sense. Claim your spot on the dancefloor and time to fly away. Those same vibes that New York creates live out their existence within the grooves of this record. The beats on this release make me fall out of my tree dead sober. Dozzy focused on the bass work and my lord, does he kill us with the darkness. Interlaced with this menacing darkness are breaks in the clouds if you will, not exactly sunshine, but at some points you will find relief from the otherwise relentless torrent of bass that this album rains down. When I first got this in the mail last fall I was very tempted to write a review but I knew this was something special, and I knew that this album deserved more than a knee-jerk first time hearing it type review. This album is techno in the highest form. Its an emotional experience. If you want to hit zen state start with track D2 and B1 to get you warmed up. You'll end up in places you never knew existed. This album is just so so good. I'm trying not to geek while I write this. Others need to experience this.

In reference to the quotation on the cover art. The term comes from line 462 of Book I of The Aeneid, an epic poem written in Latin by Virgil, one of Rome's most distinguished poets, in the first century BC. Aeneas, while crying, says, "sunt lacrimae rerum et mentem mortalia tangunt" as he gazes at one of the murals found in a Carthaginian temple, which depicts battles of the Trojan War and deaths of his friends and countrymen. Translated this says, "These are tears for events and mortal things (sufferings) touch the soul." As he stands there, Aeneas is overcome by the futility of warfare and waste of human life.
