The highlight of this album is without doubt "Ruffpet". It's hard to give a description of this track that really does it justice, but suffice to say that it's got layers upon layers of gabber kicks, breakbeats, oldskool stabs, bubbling acid, warm atmospherics and a few choice samples from old Ruffneck records, all carefully blended together to create a particularly original hardcore masterpiece. What's particularly amazing is the way that there's so much going on in the track, but it never feels too cluttered, or messy - the production is spot on, everything sounds clear and it all fits together perfectly.

The rest of the album is pretty cool too, although on a different tip - an interesting mix of techno, acid and all sorts of other things combined in a unique way. But if you like your hardcore, then it's worth buying this just for "Ruffpet". It's certainly my favourite track of the year so far.

Planet Mu kicks off 2008 with some heavy duty stuff, ‘Doubtful Guest’ drops a slab of slamming acid coated blashup - techno that makes any head bob. Lately the genre seems to be kinda stuck and originality is far to be found, but ‘Acid Sauna’ twists and turns with funny little surprises. It is a decent collection of bpm, don’t expect any hidden messages or fancy stories, with ‘Acid Sauna’ you get what you hear and it sounds good!
