he had almost zero input on this album, he did some vocals and some beats w/ kut masta kurt but the label sent the vocals to some weird team and they pretty much butchered everything

Considering Dr Octagynecologist is up there as one of the best hip hop records of the Nineties, it seems quite a surprise that the second Dr Octagon album comes close to being one of the worst hip hop albums of this decade, that is if it is hip hop. I couldn't really figure out if Kool Keith is on this or not or if it had been ghost written for him while he was whacking off somewhere. Either way the result is wank...

This album rocks! The man is nuts and he's managed to sound different and original one more time. The beats are phat. He has adapted new electro sounds with that olds school sound only Kool Keith knows how to deliver. Trees is the standout of the album! Long time i didn't hear anything this fresh, and it's two years old already! Wow! Is his man really nuts where do his lyrics come from, he must be one real interesting individual. And what about Dan the automator he sounds like Plus Device or Jimmy Edgar. The phatness of this album almost breaks my earphones!

It's not really fair to blame the lack of Kool Keith on this album on Kool Keith. This album was done without his permission, with only a couple of real songs being recorded - it's obvious from the album itself. There's a couple Kool Keith songs, a skit or two, some sick synthy instrumental hip hop and a Princess Superstar track. If not for the promise of being a full Octagon album, I would highly recommend it, for its production is off the charts exciting, using the horror/sci-fi theme to create a more uplifting atmosphere than the first. The only real Keith songs, "Trees" "Aliens" and "Ants", are worth checking out.

Can't hate on Kool Keith for staying in the game for so long, reminds of a successful boxer that stays in the sport way after his prime, oh well to each their own. The first Octagon album was solid and holds up to this day, don't think any of these cuts would have made it on the first. Uninspired and annoying, avoid unless you're a true Octagon fiend.
