Luckily this album has been licensed to and reissued by many different labels, hence its status as a milestone in hypnotic ambient music. For what my opinion may be worth, everything of value on this album is to be found within the first two tracks: School Of Fish and Hymn. Both are extremely well built and orchestrated slabs of melody and emotion, especially the latter, which stands as THE single most precious piece of downtempo music my ears have ever heard. Coupled with occasional samples going: "The western civilization has nothing to do with women", the track keeps revolving around a single uber catchy and, if you want to call it that, emotional melody. Pure bliss, and it goes on for slightly over 28 minutes. You need to hear it. Trust me.
Unfortunately, all great things come to an end, and so do this album's quality and consistency drop after the second tune. Fishology is a pretty irritating track with a vocal sounding like a freckle faced prom king throwing up gallons of beer while muttering the word -Dreamfish-. Jesus, gives me an ear irritation. The closing number, Under Water, sounds just like it was recorded there. I guess it's something for those who like drone(?) music or what not. Basically, it's a fifteen minute soundtrack to water current. Yay, exciting. Oh well, folks dig it, so no need to get all picky and stuff, 'cause in the end, no matter how you look at it, the first two tracks are gargantuan, and justify buying two copies of this, let alone one... Great release!
