Reviews & Discussion

Rated 4/5
Review by scoundrel Jan 14, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
ANYWHERE merges three different sounds (reggae, country, and synth-pop) into one track, and I'll be damned if it's not damn catchy. The good-ol'-boy guitar picking seems to fit the off-beat reggae chords to a tee, and Sarah Blackwood's vocals just add the icing to the cake. The "Parkside Edit" by Graeme Park shows its age -- the time of the Hacienda has long passed us, unfortunately. The "Crunch Chill" mix fares better, however, having shot the track into outer space with a quick, but understated beat. The b-side, "Don't Blame Me," is good enough to have been on the album. It's the type of track that makes b-sides worth looking for.
