Living in Texas one thing I have learned is that local music is full of flavor and passion. Egshan stand above in the sense that they understand how to hone that passion into true down to earth songs. Songs you will remember and sing aloud! The first time I heard "Breaking Down", my face got hot because I was so empowered by Nick's voice. He is really singing this with his heart and soul. It has been a long time since I've heard that in a local band - hell - any band in a while. The guys know how to really create original and powerful songs that will propel your mind and spirit. As a writer myself it was inspiring to hear this record with my ears pricked up and opened. Nick and crew are family and have such a strong connect. You hear it in the entire piece. "Static" is my personal favorite with it's electronic induction and melodic thrum. The infectious energy of both "Blue Day" and "Running Away" is stunning, both could call out for singles on a radio. Good guys. Good music. They just came off of a tour of the states and I see terribly bright things in their future!

Brown-Eyed Soul Rock is the current genre for EgShan. Brothers Nick Shan, Rick Shan, and Rob Shan hail from the musical melting pot of Texas, San Antonio. They are the bastard children of the infamous San Antonio Human Rights Leader/Outlaw, E.G. Shan. A man known by day as an outspoken voice of the people and by night as a gambling, partying mad man.
