About year ago this was my best EN record, but since then I've gone through all EN discography and it's not as good for me as it was that year ago. Also when I heard live versions of songs from that album on "Brussels" live CD I found that their prototypes on that CD are so sluggish and simply boring ("Zampano", "Sonnenbarke"). Only few defends themselfs even now: "Redukt", "Die Befindlichkeit Des Landes", "Dingsaller", "Silence Is Sexy".
But it's still I think one of the best of their work.
And "Sonnenbarke" is still one of my best EN songs :).

The newer releases of Einstürzende Neubauten are completely different to their older recordings. You will not hear that much industrial noise and screams, more symphonic sounds are added to the newer tracks. That might be an effect of Blixa Bargelds cooperation with the Tim Isfort Orchestra, a german big-band-like orchestra recording symphonic pop songs with several guest musicians (Tom Liwa, Sam Brown, Katharina Thalbach and of course Blixa Bargeld). But you'll also find the metal percussion, the self built instruments and Blixas astonishing voice on this release. But somehow more in the background, as a part of the whole. It's there because it has to be there, not because it's a special instrument that's just there for being special. Can't really say what my favorite of this CD is, but the bonus-track on the second CD definitivly isn't. Don't spend extra money for buying the limited release if you can have the normal release for less.
