A superb release and every track is a winner. Special mention must go to the Line 47 remix. The original is great, but this takes it to the next level entirely. As complex as it is devastating, it is a journey from start to finish and the 180bpm+ breaks work seemlessly with the vocals. Reworking traditional Indian music into electronic genres isn't groundbreaking by any means, but it really works here. Awesome.

This is a really enjoyable release. For someone who is just getting into this artist's catalogue, these particular cuts seem to be a little less aggressive than some of his other stuff. They are still damn heavy, but the augmentation of the chopped-up, stutter breaks with Indian sonic flavors, to me, creates for a listening experience that is surprisingly unabrasive. Melodic, even beautiful effects and textures (vocals, traditional Indian instruments, etc.) initially caught be off guard, but pleasantly so. Comes highly recommended. If you dig the whole tradition Indian-hybrid motif, then check out DJ Shadow and Automator's "Bombay the Hard Way" series (thought the second installment is an almagamation of various underground hip-hop/breaks producers).
