This was a great song written in the mid sixties. Originally the song was just the band playing their instruments. Later on the producer brought in a local popular Mariachi band to do the trumpets and violins you hear on teh track. This was to give the song that Latin/Mexican sound that was becoming popular at that time with the release of songs like "La Bamba". The flip side was "Girl of My Dreams" by David and Ruben. This was a great ballad that I have heard on comulations CDs before.
Of course I am a bit bias as The Majestics was my Dad's band and David and Ruben are my uncles. They were also in the Majestics which was originally named "Art's Majestics". The record was first distributed under the Warner Brother Records label and I guess someone bought the rights to it for the distribution. Whoever put this on this site, thank you and I would love to find out where it came from. I am also interested to know who has the rights to this song as well. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again for the post.
