A strong 12" from Code's experimental Drum n Bass imprint, Subtle Audio.
With "The Phantoms" Equinox goes for sinister and more industrial sounding atmospherics than usual. As Marlon puts it himself, "it's all about the beats" and with this track, he's not wrong! The highly syncopated and almost metallic-sounding drum break used is as relentless as it is obscure. Deep Subs add even more darkness to the mix, making the track every bit as scary as the title might suggest!
"All Over" is a change of style from Senses' previous outings on vinyl. Use of a rolling "Hot Pants" break in conjunction with pitched-up female vocals and mellow mid-nineties style synths, provides the track with a distinctly old skool vibe! One for the head and the feet, which after all is the ethos of the label.
