This 12" eventually turned from
BR 009 into
BR 010 through the following events:
The track Intense Visitation, which samples Jim Morrison of famous psychedelic rockers The Doors reading one of his poems, was only ever released in its full glory on this single (a heavily butchered version is available on a
mix CD by Goa Gil and also on a
mix cassette by Mark Allen). The reason is that after a promo / test pressing run of around 50 copies was made, the sampling was brought to the attention of Jim Morrison's heirs. Apparently, they are normally cool with sampling as long as permission is asked for, but neither label nor artist had done so in this case. Thus, Blue Room Released was forced to cancel this record (according to the infosheet the intended release date was to be 07 Aug 1995).
Instead, BR 009 was turned into BR 009 CD/LP for the Juno Reactor album and this Etnica single pushed to BR 010 as
Tribute / Astral Way. Not to waste money on another master acetate, the one for the track Tribute side had "BR 009 A1" crossed out and replaced with "BR 010 A2" below the original inscription, while the replacement for Intense Visitation, an older Etnica track called Astral Way, only has the BR 010 inscription as it was never intended for BR 009.
