The Nightmare Mix is still a very cool breakbeat style house mix. It takes a somewhat dark song and makes it even darker by adding eerie modulated church bell sounds, dark keyboard riffs, and a well known spoken Bible sample from Genesis that says "Behold, Here Cometh The Dreamer ... Let Us Slay Him ... And We Shall See What Will Become Of His Dreams". A disturbing remix. There should be more like it!

Not heard either of the above mentioned mixes so can't comment on them. I do know that the Dave Angel Nightmare mix basically introduced the world to Dave Angel - talented man that he is.
He did a bootleg of Sweet Dreams, i.e. the Nightmare Mix and Eurythmics heard it, liked it, and got it put on a release of Sweet Dreams, which I think is absolute quality from Eurythmics. Not sure how I know that, so it could be complete tosh, but sounds plausible. If true, it shows they've got taste and class. Can't blame them really as I think the Nightmare mix is brilliant. It is a proper remix, i.e. it is somebody elses interpretation of the key elements of the original song. Too many remixes don't work to this philosophy these days....and that is a bad thing.
