Reviews & Discussion

Review by nihil-distortion Aug 09, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
6 tracks of pure club-track minimalism.... Steve Bicknell produced, this EP has obvious references to Rob Hood's Minimal Nation, which, strictly speaking, is alright, as mister Hood frequently graces Bicknell's lost-nights with his presence.

This is one of Steve Bicknell's most original sounding releases. Put out around the same time as the first Lost Recordings tracks were featured via dubplates in his Lost party sets, "No Hats Required" ("hats" referring to hi-hats) is a mass of mildly nauseating cyclic analogue stabs & blips over minimal and very soft, deep kicks. Very abstract stuff that can confuse people wonderfully when played through a big sound system.
