Continuing where they left off with "the earth is not a cold dead place", the atmospheric rockers in Explosion have created a dense post-rock record that is really enjoyable. A little more easy going than the last record, a bit less tense, but still a very good album by the band.

I enjoy the original songs however, I may enjoy the remixes even more! Highlites include the Four-tet remix, the Jesu remix and the Mountains mix. The extra disc is well worth the extra money.

This album isn't a huge departure from what we're used to hearing from Explosions In The Sky thus far, but it does have a more mature feel about it. Lengthy crescendos and tremolo plucked guitars drenched in reverb and delay echo throughout your mind, with melodies that soar higher than the clouds. This album takes you on a roller coaster ride- at times very quiet, then building into a fortified wall of exquisite noise. Sometimes it feels like the music is soaring past you at 100 miles per hour while your left standing still in the wake of the vibrations. Definitely a keeper for the post-rock/shoegaze/Indie fans.
