Reviews & Discussion

Review by bonnicon Dec 18, 2008
Probably the most 'electronic' release by EIG, this first single nevertheless has a charming golden warmth. The birth-pain urgency to communicate, emotion pushing through language barriers of the misunderstood, surges out through spires of synthesizer.
"Kodak Ghosts" suggests the heartfelt primordial cries which would surface on occasion later in EIG's career, while "China Blue Vision" has a solid, sturdy sound with a haunting filigree synth motif.
While not as easy as the other tracks, "The Feeling's Mutual" hints at later soul-wrenching incandescence. Martyn's voice fights against imagined demons, passionate for comprehension.
