Direct from the source kicks things off in a paradoxical fashion with a classic bottom of the keyboard piano hit echoing in to the percussive noisey darkness. Strains of comtemporary classical disharmonics lie smoothly over the ever more rough stepping drums and the threat of an amen looms over the track cutting through the mix. The bass is pure pressure on this track simple and effective driving the track through the wee small hours through your dancing feet and earlobes alike. The question here is can we see in to sunday afternoon silent film sepia tinged darkness?

Laid back style placement twitches nervously in the corner of a smokey jazz club as cold synth washes sweep past. The bass wriggles along in a catchy fashion as the whole tune grooves like a beast before tripping out with some nice drum echos reflected across the audio spectrum in the background before switching right back in to the subtley modulated jazz groove. Nice.

The Eschaton remix keeps the orginal groove with a more cello led edge and glitched out drums and a serious spaced vibe. Feelings of nostalgia tinge this track as a piano joins the mix. Uplifting pressure builds in to an amen festival as the wave of joyous pad waves your hands in the air. Even at 7 minutes long this track has a great progression of moods and sounds and could even benefit from a full ten minute mix, this kind of music can never have tracks that are too long.


Direct from the source mr dee remix- a tense little techno number keeping string and springs from the original with angsty dark ambient undertones. Plenty to fidget about on the percussion front as glitchiness echoes off in to 1950's horror backdrop. A subtle skank of a bassline treads a linear groove as bleeps twinkle overhead. Definitely one of those tunes that will be hummed in your head for a long time.

Direct from the source c-space remix- Icey synths mark the entrance to some serious hip hop beats striding in to view. The saw wave buzz squelches over some decidely funky breakwork. Shades of a dark future and whispered vocal drawn the attention in to a hollow space deep in the earth. The sense of actual x, y and z planes in this track is great as the atmospheric elements are played around, over and under each other with skillful use of dynamics and minimalism.
