Come inside is an absolutely brilliant italo style joint with bassline and percussion rhythms nicked note for note from the temptations' law of the land, but with completely different vocals. the american remix #1 is my select cut here, hands down. I may not know too much about the label or the history, but this is a dancefloor killer. I'd love to play this back to back with the temps song.

One of the seminal records defining an obscure musical trend and sub-genre from the late 80's and early 90's: "Asian New Wave".
For awhile, at least in NYC but probably elsewhere on the planet, Asians, especially Chinese and Koreans, where going to and throwing parties with a musical emphasis on Italo Disco, some Hi-NRG stuff, and of course large helpings of Depeche Mode and similar, poppy electro-dance stuff. This formula is still going strong, but is "below the radar" to those of us who aren't Asian and/or still in college. Noticeably absent from this "sound" is much of anything really funky or soulful, like House, Disco, Funk or Hip-hop. Despite the title track's historical importance, the winner here is on the flip side: "Come Inside" extended remix. Throbbing, mid-tempo and with a rich, powerful bass-line, this "sleaze" masterpiece will satisfy fans of Koto and similar flavors of Italo disco.

This mix of "Come Inside" is one of the most original sounding pieces of proto-house I've heard. It's got a slow almost boogie feeling shuffle to it, but lots of acid sounding synth tweaks and the structure of a deep house tune. The lyrics flow so nicely with the sounds, it keeps it interesting for all 9:00 of the track. This absolutely still sounds fresh despite being over 20 years old.
