I've said it before and I'll say it again. Clicky-Poppy Bleep Bleep Minimal Tech is not really my preferred style of dance music. In fact, my 18 month old son and I were listening to this one and he started making "popping" noises with his mouth; it was quite funny really. Non-the-less this EP has a certain appeal to me, besides the naming scheme of the tracks (who doesn't like hot female tennis players?). In fact, as far as tech house goes, this one stands out a little bit from the rest. The percussion samples are well placed behind the upbeat drum tracks, and the synth work is minimal, but still complex enough to hold ones interest. Another positive aspect of this release is the four tracks tie into an overall theme, but they don't suffer from the "everything that I write sounds the same" syndrome. At least not as much as most other music in this genre. "Martina" in particular I found to be rather interesting; the doorbell sample halfway through actually made me do a quick rewind before I got up and answered to door to nobody.

As of this writing, this release is still available at the internet archive. It's just a shame that this label is no longer around. This is a solid effort and worth checking out if you have some free time and are looking for something new to listen to.
