"Put Your Hands Up For Detroit" is a very catchy tune. What else can you say? The remixes on Ultra's release are at best lackadaisical, at worst outrageously awful. The D12 remix is by far the biggest offender here. The Dirty South/TV Rock remix hardly deviates from the original and is rather unremarkable. Luckily, you do get the original versions here. Thank God.

This is the most raping and bad programmed recording i have ever heard.
The music has nothing to do with the city Detroit or whatsoever, its just cheesy, boring and stupid sounds combined with a awfull vocal.
People that heard this record and never heard quality Detroit music are now thinking that Detroit electronic music sounds like this and that is a shame.
There is so much good music from Detroit and cheap sounds like this are raping the quality, feeling and emotion in every record i own.

I really dislike this record, there are allready less people who know something about the history of electronic music. It, techno, kicked of in Detroit, we can not have to many people around producing records with the vocals "put your hands up for Detroit". This records doesn't has anything to do with Detroit, yeah well maybe in some kind of way, without techno and Detroit this record would have never been there..
If you want to pay respect to Detroit, then please don't make this cheasy crap, come up with soulfull, futuristic, electronic music, that's true to the sound of Detroit.
I think it's a cheap record, the sounds are hardhouse/rave like, it's not even a good hardhouse/ house record, it's not original, to me it's nothing.

This release has reached superdisco status in the world of house. Why? I really don't know. This record is cheesy and ventilates the sound which the house community fiercely denied during the millennium change.

The question is: what on earth has this song to do with Detroit? Not even remotely I hear any of the great elements that give electronic music from that city it's distinctive sound.

If they were dead, Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, Carl Craig and Derrick May would turn in their grave, hearing this record. A better title would be "Put your hands up for Renesse (or fill in your own local sassy seaside town)".
