Fantastic sounds from the Amsterdam downtown. Flamman & Porter in a moment of sheer genius delivering a classic ep in every sense of the word. The track known to every lover of oldskool music, even the youngsters should known this due to still heavily on the turntables these days, is A1 "Atomic Slide". Military drums, heavy, heavy housebeats, a male vocal going on about "you got to believe in something, why not believe in me", sparse interventions by Blondie (of all people) whispering ATOMIC. You know this (originaly) very gay influenced track!! On the other side the version a bit more popular with the techno jocks and on the afterparty circuit :-) (even, well deserved, included on Laurent Garnier's "Laboratoire Mix cd).
BUT :you absolutely need to check out the hilarious "Allemaal, Allemaal" track. Ahem : hip house Dutch style with a girl that cannot sing and a text that was made after some heavy, heavy partying I guess. If you understand Dutch you'll be flabbergasted by the line "Het liedje in mijn hoofd, ik geraak het maar niet kwijt, ik heb aan alles schijt". Translation : Can't get rid of the tune in my head, I don't care about shit in this world" : Hedonistic masterpiece and basicaly what house was all about in the early days !!!!!
