Fingertwister (great name) has a reputation for downtempo dub and ‘I Remember Jah’ can only enhance that reputation. Not sure about the Sparky the Piano EFX (ask your grand parents) on the vocals, but this is a great electronic reggae. Ras Iyah supplies the “Rastafariiiiiiiii“ roots chant and there’s some Fat Freddy's Drop type sax playing. I was hoping the remixes tidied up the vocal and sure enough, Ooze goes King Tubby echo chamber on us with some tape loop stuff. Sushi Club (Tomio Tremmel and Naoki Kenji) take us back to Balearic chill out beaches, glorious sunsets and sunrises. Downtempo dubbed electronic house couldn’t describe this one better; no doubt bound for a compilation release. The Solead remix has lost most of the original track for Depeche Mode style scratchin’ with some vibraphone; you can see why Damian Lazarus is a fan of their work. Strong 12” as each track brings something different.
