'Vijf Profielen' was commisioned by Muzieklab Brabant/Stichting Het Zuidlicht/Buro Beeldende Kunst Vlissingen as part of 'Mijn Domein [1]', an exhibition held from 2 October to 27 November 2005 in Vlissingen, The Netherlands. Sound recordings were made at the Zware Plaatwerkerij, Vlissingen with the kind assistance of Fons Temmerman and Edwin de Smet. The building is no longer in use as such. The composition was made on location, late November 2005, and presented on 27 November 2005. The studioversion was completed January 2006 at Geluidwerkplaats Extrapool, Nijmegen, The Netherlands.
