Tracks 1 to 5 recorded at Studio Freeson, Pujaut, France and Studio Sunrise, Kirchberg, Switzerland, July & August 1980. Tracks 6, 7 & 9 are partly based on a live concert recorded at CBGB in New York, April 1980, subsequently altered and added to in Switzerland. Track 11 is from the same concert and is an improvised piece heard as played. Tracks 8, 10, 12 & 13 recorded at Studio Sunrise, July & August 1980. Track 14 released as part of Morgan Fisher's "Miniatures" compilation, contains a portion of every track recorded by Henry Cow assembled according to a strict mathematical system and lasting exactly one minute, collated at Pass, NYC and KUNM, Albuquerque, New Mexiko in 1980. Track 15 recorded live at Rue Dunois, Paris in 1981 and at home in NYC. Track 16 is from Elliott Sharp's "State Of The Union" compilation, recorded at home in NYC, 1982. Track 17 is from a record-by-mail project with Steve Gore for his LP "Ridin' On A Bummer", recorded at home, 1983. Track 18 is from the Japanese compilation "Sound Cosmodel", recorded at home, 1982. Track 19 is from the Japanese compilation "Welcome To Dreamland", collated from the other songs on that record at Studio Dig, Tokyo, February 1985.
First released by Ralph Records in 1981 on LP, containing tracks 1 to 13 only.
