Homeward Bound sounds so cheesy, like a MIDI tune that the Yamaha programmers provide on a sampler for their new keyboards, but since this is a professional artist making a living off of compositions, it sounds so sweet, so seminal, and so gripping, that I have completely forgotten anything whatsoever of how music is programmed. The 808's and the leads, the echoes and the reverb are so intricately deployed that those of us who have ever composed digital music would understand that this composition costs the writer a numerous amount of channels and adjustments. I would call it complex Nintendo music. The simplistic stupidity and complacent nature of the melodies make it sound comparable to classical music, distant and unlike death metal, thug rap, or psychedelic goa trance. Mr. Kuhlmann reckons that this is one of his top notch moments in music production. While it takes courage and patience to listen through to, A million miles to earth is exactly like the name of the track, begging the listener to finish listening through to the end of it to study it by listening through to it once again. Snake charmer and sad alliance are also nice openers, but the last track is like the depressing return home from the best ski trip of your life.

Imagine you're wrapped into warm & soft cushions, you feel perfectly relaxed and comfortable - and you're floating thru infinite space at the same time. If that sounds appealing, you definitely need this album (the almost half an hour long "A Million Miles To Earth" alone is worth it). Electronic music in all its beauty: melancholy, warmth and simplicity.
