Reviews & Discussion

Review by mindblow_ Sep 25, 2004 (edited over 5 years ago)
This is a very personal record for me. ’Diabla’ was the biggest techno tune back in 2001 - canned by all the big names. There are two factors which make this tune special for me. First of all, obviously, it’s an amazing track. The bass, the strings - the whole atmosphere of the song. Secondly, this was the record which brought my attention to techno.

The original version was hard, ruff and it had nothing to make it interesting. The Heavenly mix is so different, that is hard to believe that it’s even the same song. Samuel L. Sessions remix, and other remixes, had their supporters as well, but for me, all the remixes lacked the divine feeling that the Heavenly mix had.

This record still remains as the production peak for Mr. D’Void. The whole ‘Dos’ era was way more interesting than the material he has released recently. This record really is semi-classic.

My favourite record of 2001 hands down. I first heard Danny Howells play this in March 2001, then I didn't hear it for months until everyone from Pete Tong to Dave Clarke was playing it in Ibiza in August. I got my copy signed my Funk D'Void himself :)
