In my opinion, the cd DOES differ significantly from the lp, since there are tracks on either format that are not on the other. Also, I think this is Voigt's best album, sooo melancholy, i love it. If you're into this, be sure to check out Jan Jelinek's 'Loop-finding-jazz-records' [sic], which is similar in style and atmosphere, albeit a little bit more rhythm-directed. These are two of all time favourite records.
While I think that the other Gas releases are better as a whole, the first track of this one really makes up for this since it is among the best. It takes me somewhere else and makes me think of a long, hot and dark summer. As with the other Gas releases the artwork is wonderful as it is not only beautiful but also perfectly captures the spirit of the music.
As far as I know, though, there are not so many significant differences between the vinyl and the CDs. It doesn't matter that much which version you get as long as you get it.
