Well good introduction review to this album.
First of all, since 5-6 years in music shops I see compilations covers like with a fireplace people with from 60's fashion exc...but inside the compilations there are the artists like (tosca, kruder & dormiester, Thievery Corporation exc...)
these are all downbeat artist not lounge or easy listening!!!
But I don't actually mention Ennio Morricone or Piero Umiliani exc... Because if you buy one of these artists' album one track is alright (mellow and gentle but the others are all the similar tracks...:(
The Gentle People album is totally different then my mentions on top. It starts mellow and gentle but also dubby sounds makes you drift from pink clouds to another with a fluffy light attidude. And on the other hand
as into electronic music from ambient to speedcore since 1985; Aphex Twin's remix to ''journey'' has always been my all time favourite!!!
Check it out after that album, you'll love it

Perhaps an odd release for the Rephlex label, but Rephlex has always prided itself on its oddness. The Gentle People’s debut, Soundtracks for Living take the lounge scene and run away with it entirely. Blissful and heavenly, there’s not one note out of place, not one sound to cause any undue alarm. Instead, it’s the grooviest melodies and rhythms this side of Burt Bacharach. The first half of the album is packed full of champagne bubbles: “The Soundtrack of Life,” “Journey,” and “World of Love” go straight to your head. “Emotion Heater” is a longer track, compounding the happiness. The second half of the album sometimes drifts a little too far into the ether, but it’s maintains the same vibe. Self-consciously campy, full of life and naugahyde, make The Gentle People’s Soundtracks for Living your own.
