Gimmik - (Back To Basics)

I think many people misinterpret this release. I think it is a kind of "hitchhiker's guide to idm/electronica/whatever". It came clear to me because of the title of the album.
One track sounds like BOC, one like Squarepusher, one like Apparat, and so on and so forth, but the Gimmik-sound is always there. I use strictly the phrase "sounds like", because most songs on it have unique melodies, with unique ideas I think. It is only the "language" of the tracks can be other artists' language in a way. Would love to hear more albums with this concept.

This album manages to mix all the different styles Gimmik has explored up to date. Cute manic stuff with kiddie noises to more enoesque ambient songs.
